Think seamless integration of a multi-dimensional spectrum of disciplines. Our team includes acclaimed strategists and prime creative thinkers with backgrounds in business, economics, investor relations, advertising and digital media. For good measure, add music, theatre and visual arts.
For three decades, we keep servicing corporate and retail clients across North America and Europe. A third of that via the investor relations division of the TMX, advising public issuers from all over the world; big and small, multinationals and start-ups. We have learned from the best and yes, advised some of the best organizations around the globe. In addition, we co-started a festival that has changed Canadian theatre history and have contributed music to some of the biggest television and film networks in Hollywood.
We view the world through an unpolluted, uncompromised mind-set. We don’t want to find an existing, pre-cooked box for you. We dig, we probe, we question; endlessly and with gusto. If you have something unique to offer, we will build it up and find an unforgettable way to share it. We will inform the world that there is a new world awaiting them. Your world!
Not by choice, but by necessity. Our/your world is an incredibly complex, multi-dimensional, entangled entity—in constant flux, morphing and advancing. Most importantly, its innermost driving force, its prime engine becomes visible only for the most diligent and inexorable inquirers. Your organization is no different; it is an enigma. That’s why we study every part of you and the universe around you. Everything. If we connect the dots incorrectly, your audience will give us an empty gaze and your brand will drift away into oblivion. Everything matters.
Your digital presence is your calling card, your selling proposition, your badge of honour. At the same time, your website is your true face, your psychological profile, your body of fears…exposed. A botched website design and clumsy UX can harm your business. So, what is the right formula? A successful, authentic website is about truth, trust and respect. The prime engine of an effective website runs on a hi-octane fuel-mix of these three key foundations.

FARAPULSE is the pioneer of a new era in cardiac ablation. Its innovative technology has been used to treat patients in multiple European clinical studies. In August 2021, the company has announced its acquisition by BOSTON SCIENTIFIC. The acquisition process will be finalized in 2023.
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is an arrhythmia affecting millions of patients and is often treated with a procedure called pulmonary vein isolation. Traditionally, extreme heating or cooling is employed to achieve the desired effect of blocking abnormal heartbeats. However, these thermal methods may carry risk to surrounding structures such as the esophagus and phrenic nerve.
FARAPULSE Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) is a novel, non-thermal method for cardiac ablation that is fundamentally different from traditional modalities. Through a process called irreversible electroporation, cardiac tissue targeted for ablation is rendered electrically inactive while collateral tissues are spared. Unlike traditional thermal methods, which ablate indiscriminately with extreme temperatures, non-thermal FARAPULSE PFA is tissue-selective.

SUNPROTECTION GROUP
Branding / Web / Print / Interior
Our relationship with Sunprotection Group commenced in 2019. The mandate, to build up a brand and presence for the newly formed company started with a new identity and web development. A year later, we developed a fabric sheet sample system, which had to be flexible enough to accommodate the requirements of all participating partners (Italy, Canada, Mexico) and was to be presented in print and on-line. As the on-line version is restricted to designated clients only, we had to develop a complex approval and pass-word protected system.
Sunprotection Group Inc. is a Canadian company, aspiring to become the benchmark North American manufacturing enterprise for architectural shading and daylighting systems. Its goal, in collaboration with international partners, is to provide the most advanced, world-class technology and expertise for both interior and exterior applications to architects, developers, designers and contractors. According to its vision statement, the Sunprotection Group decided to push the limits of technology and achieve a zero tolerance for substrate toxicity. The company’s CEO, Enrico Nardone, believes that he can substantially reduce a building’s energy footprint by taking energy-saving solutions to the next level.

HANA'S SUITCASE
Design / Web
STORY
In the spring of 2000, Fumiko Ishioka, the curator of a small Holocaust education center in Tokyo, received an empty suitcase from the Auschwitz museum. It was marked "Hana Brady, May 16, 1931, Orphan." Fumiko and the children at the center were determined to learn what became of Hana all those years ago. The heartbreaking stry they uncovered - of a brave young girl killed in the Holocaust and survived only by her brother, George - was captured in Karen Levines book Hana's Suitcase, as well as in Director Larry Wienstein's documentary "Inside Hana's Suitcase".
The book has become the most awarded children's book in Canadian history and has been published in more than forty-five countries around the world.
Primengine was brought on to design and develop a website dedicated to the extensive Brady legacy.

RADIALIS MEDICAL
Branding / Web / Collateral
Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging is a proven modality that has been in clinical practice for almost half a century. It advanced the visualization of functioning tissues, both tumors and healthy organs. In particular, PET has been instrumental in the detection of cancers metastasizing.
Organ-targeted PET builds on this progress. With thousands of modern-day silicon sensors that are placed right next to the target, the RADIALIS system creates high-definition images of a specific area of concern, enabling a more accurate or thorough understanding of the disease, which in turn positively impacts treatment and planning decisions.
Most importantly, the RADIALIS technology can play an integral role in the promise and the practice of precision medicine: the right treatment for the right patient at the right time. For instance, the images could reveal whether a breast needs to be removed or conserved. Whether a treatment is winning or losing the battle. Whether a high-risk loved one is in fact beating the odds.
The Radialis PET Imager is able to resolve objects as small as 1.3mm. With more available data, the Radialis PET Imager can reveal clinically-relevant details not visible in traditional PET. By placing the proprietary detector surfaces close to the area of interest, the Radialis PET Imager maximizes the resolution of the image acquired. The system also has excellent contrast sensitivity, differentiating between adjacent areas of relatively similar radiotracer uptake.

Over the years we have produced hundreds of investor, keynote and sales presentations and dozens of IPO presentations. Developing an effective Power Point presentation is a complex task. We take it from the ground up. From research, the essential messaging structure, scripting, brand harmonization to meticulous production and scripting.
We know all the words. From 4 letter words to sesquipedalia verba.
Little else does more damage than bad copy. Few write well, but everyone - whether they're a CEO or an 8th grader - immediately knows when something is amiss in your messaging. How you're saying it is as important as what you're saying. Your verbal fingerprint is a seminal part of your brands body language. It would take a novel to cover our process. In short, we draw on decades of experience and we revise, revise, and revise again until the prose flows like butter.
Logos and word marks are a discipline we have been pursuing for close to 40 years. Needless to say, we stick with tried-and-true solutions. Trends come and go, but great work does not age. The rules are relatively simple. It's about clarity, simplicity and relevancy. What is not simple at all are subtle cultural and historical connotations, which if overlooked may cause a lot of trouble for everyone involved.
There's a good chance no one is coming to check out your office. There's a good chance you don't have an office. You have a physical store? They're not coming there either. Not yet.
They're coming to check out your digital presence and it's likely they're not staying long. You have minutes at most. Often 10 to 30 seconds to educate them. Often they leave and come back later. You need to be memorable; Bold, brave, beautiful, on brand with a smooth, seamless user experience.
We've been helping clients navigate the digital space since the first websites were created in the 90's.
Web is everything right now but oddly enough, there's a shortage of great, effective web design on the market. There are endless variations of the same shtick: thousands of websites looking very similar to each other. The next prevalent disease; cliché imagery sourced from inexpensive stock photography and illustration vendors. You deserve better. We pride ourselves in building unique, proprietary solutions and imagery.
Why do certain stories grab peoples attention? Why do they buy this and not the other? Many successful marketing stories defy logic and common sense. How is it possible that a focus group gives, repeatedly, an absolute thumbs down to a newly developed office chair, while the public at large embraces it with unbridled enthusiasm and makes it the biggest seller of all time? Our opinion: First and foremost, marketing is all about great listening and observation skills. Great marketers are flexible visionaries.
Printed collateral used to be the top priority in marketing and advertising. As we all know, the digital revolution has changed that, but on occasion, print is still holding its own. We have produced thousands of pieces of printed collateral: brochures, catalogues, annual reports, flyers, POP’s, stationery… the list is endless.
Digital is king but we still love to create beautiful physical objects.
We work in both B2B and B2C sectors, big and small. From household names to startups. Do we have to introduce brand names like Redbull or Kronenbourg? Or Coca Cola or Molson? Let’s mention Jayman Masterbuilder from Western Canada, where we launched the best selling integrated campaign in the history of the company, which included print, media, billboards and sales centres.
Let’s face it, everyone avoids ads like the plague. However, people will still connect with the right content. Be smart. Be funny. Be real. Be original. Bend the rules. Don’t be a car salesman. That’s how we believe you create a lasting connection between your brand and the consumer.
Digital Advertising
You can’t be everything to everyone all the time unless you have an ad spend the size of a small country’s GDP. You CAN be something to the right audience by creating highly targeted, perfectly timed creative driven by strategy and refined by data, which has become the new baseline for any competing business.
21st century naming can be quite a challenge. There are millions of names already registered and hence unavailable. To find a new compelling name - a ringer - which also relates to the organization’s business, is not easy. Yes, we have a proven methodology and we can pull it off. Some examples… Farapulse Medical, Museum of New or exactEarth.
Curating is a hot word these days. A good curator is able to spot the invisible, elusive yet essential qualities or attributes of things or phenomena, and makes them visible for everyone else by connecting the dots. Many aspire, but only a few succeed. A relatively young discipline that requires true well rounded and deeply educated folks.
PRIMENGINE was recently named one of the 40 top packaging design agencies in Toronto, in part because of the importance we place on it. While every one of your brands consumer touch points are important, Packaging is second only to perhaps your web presence.
This $600 billion industry relies on design best practices and strategic thinking like no other. Packaging is the last message a consumer is exposed to before he or she uses the actual product. If the packaging underwhelms the buyer, there is no sale. Enormous care needs to be put into positioning your brand in a massively saturated marketplace with a voice and look and feel that is unique, eye catching, educational with a finely tuned hierarchy of information, buyer and or taste appeal and high visibility / legibility from a distance. Not to mention abiding by regional regulations and best practices.
Over the years we've honed methods to arrive at a place that will give your new or existing product the best chance of being picked up. When it comes to packaging, we leave nothing to chance.
If we think of a person as a brand, we take notice of his or her appearance, movement, body language, voice, demeanor, humour, opinions or ethics. The same goes for a company or organization. A brand is the sum of thousands of attributes. A rude receptionist or annoyingly persistent line-ups in a coffee chain can ruin even the best visual profile. A good brand has to resonate in every single detail of a company’s behaviour.
Not sure what you need? Maybe you just "need more clients, customers, traffic or funding." That's our jam. Let's jump in a brainstorming session and figure it out!
No matter the challenge, we've probably done it. We've collaborated on GUI development, gaming graphics, product design, events etc. If it's a creative problem, we can find a solution.
